Privacy Policy

Overview

Pocketit is a browser extension and web app that lets you capture screenshots, videos, and web interactions and save them directly to your Google Drive. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and what we never do with it.

Data We Access

  • Google Account identity — your name and email address, used solely to authenticate you and label your captures.
  • Google Drive — we create and write files to a Pocketit/ folder in your Drive. We do not read, modify, or delete any files outside that folder.
  • Active tab content — captured only when you explicitly trigger a capture. We access the visible page to take a screenshot or record a video clip.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not store your data on our own servers.
  • We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties.
  • We do not track your browsing history.
  • We do not run analytics or ad targeting.

Where Your Data Lives

All captured content (screenshots, videos, metadata) is saved exclusively to your own Google Drive account. Pocketit acts as a bridge between your browser and your Drive — we never hold a copy.

Permissions Explained

  • identity — Google OAuth login. Required to authenticate you with Google Drive.
  • storage — stores your preferences and session state locally in the browser. Nothing is synced externally.
  • tabs / activeTab / scripting — used only during an active capture to access the current tab's content.
  • tabCapture / offscreen — used to record video from the active tab when you trigger a video capture.

Data Retention

Your captures live in your Google Drive and are under your full control. You can delete them at any time from the Pocketit dashboard or directly in Google Drive. Uninstalling the extension does not delete your Drive files.

Children's Privacy

Pocketit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Pocketit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
